How training with me actually works.
Everything is modular — same as the buildings. You tell me who you're training and what they need. I pick the pieces, sequence them, and deliver. Here's every option side by side.
| Option | What it is | Length | Best for | Certificate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2-Day Cohort Program | Two full days, in person. Foundations on Day 1, six hands-on trade stations on Day 2. Turnkey — you bring the people, I bring everything else. | 2 days · 12 hrs | Employment programs, colleges and newcomer programs (adults 18+) | Practical Training |
| Live Remote Class | I teach live from my studio — one camera on me, one on the bench, tools up close, questions answered live. Your group joins on Zoom or Teams from anywhere. How it works → | 3–4 hrs each | Programs outside Eastern Ontario, northern and remote communities, the Caribbean | Completion |
| Hybrid Hands-On ("Studio + Kit") | I teach live on your screen while a local facilitator runs the stations with a tool kit and materials list I send ahead. Your people do the work, I coach. | 1 day + | Out-of-province programs with a shop or yard; fly-in communities | Practical Training |
| Short Courses | Any course from the library, taught live — in a classroom or online. Stack several into a custom program. | 3–4 hrs each | Cohort add-ons, new-hire onboarding, stand-alone sessions | Completion |
| Hands-On Trade Sessions | Tools in hand on one trade skill — framing, plumbing, drywall, siding and more. Tools, stations and PPE supplied. | 2–3 hrs each | Small groups, apprentices, adult learners, crews (youth versions are demo-only for power tools) | Practical Training |
| Self-Paced Online | Course videos, handouts and a quiz people complete on their own time. | At their pace | Individuals, large groups, remote learners | Digital Learner |
| Curriculum Licence | Your instructors deliver my courses — decks, handouts and speaker notes included. | Annual | Colleges, trade schools, large organizations | Your program's |
| Field Leader Series | Site read, then a custom session built from what I saw, then ongoing check-ins. | Half day → ongoing | Established GCs, developers, trades companies | — |
| Custom Video Series | A training video series built around your program, shot and edited for you — scripts, modules, quizzes and handouts. | 8–12 min modules | Organizations that need training at scale, onboarding, LMS content | Digital Learner |
| Talks & Keynotes | "Built Different" — my story, the opportunity in the trades, and how to get in. | 45 min – 3 hrs | Program launches, conferences, schools | — |
From first call to first day.
Talk
A 15-minute call. Who are you training, how many, where, and what do they need to walk away with?
Build
I pick the courses and sequence them for your group. You get a one-page program outline and a quote within 48 hours of our call.
Deliver
In person, I show up with the tools, materials, PPE and handouts. Remote, I teach live from my studio. Either way, your people do the work.
Certify
Every participant gets a certificate, and you get a short wrap-up on how the group did.
Where most people start.
2-Day Hands-On Trades Training
Two full days, in person. Day 1 is the foundation. Day 2 is six trade stations — every participant gets tools in hand at every one. Built for people brand new to the trades and for people who've done the work somewhere else and need the Canadian version.
See both days
Day 1 — Foundations
- Site safety & orientation — PPE, emergency procedures, site rules
- Reading plans — floor plans, elevations, sections, scale
- Hand tools & your kit — tape, speed square, chalk line, level
- Power tools — every student drills, drives and makes a guided cut
- Chainsaw safety — demo: kickback, PPE, safe vs unsafe
- Framing basics — plates, 16" o.c. layout, a practice wall in pairs
Day 2 — Six stations
- Electrical rough-in — wire a practice outlet
- Plumbing rough-in — assemble a real PEX run
- Drywall — hang a sheet, tape and coat a joint
- Windows & siding — set a window, run a course of siding
- Insulation & vapour barrier — batts, poly, tape and seal
- Wood & framing — king, jack, cripple — a full wall section
Short Courses — 3 to 4 hours each
Overseas to Canada — how a Canadian site actually runs: communication, hierarchy, what's expected on day one.
Building Across Borders — construction in North America vs. the Global South, and how to turn your experience into Canadian credentials.
Modular Construction — how off-site building works and where the jobs are going.
Canadian Health & Safety — what the law requires and what keeps you alive on a site.
"Built Different" — the talk
My story, the real opportunity in the trades, and exactly how to get in. Works as a cohort kickoff, a keynote, or a school and youth session. Canada doesn't have a workforce problem — it has an access problem.
Field Leader Series.
Your crew doesn't need another certification. Most of the time the problem is attitude, communication and safety culture — and you can't fix that from a classroom.

Site Read
Half or full day on your site. I watch, ask questions, and figure out what's really going on. Not an audit — a diagnosis.
Custom Session
Half a day in your boardroom or site trailer, built from what I saw. Real examples, no checklist.
Ongoing
Monthly or quarterly visits, follow-ups and custom modules for your crew.

Your program. On video.
Some organizations need training that runs without me in the room — for every new intake, every site, every time. So I build it for them.
I'm building a 14-module video series for ACCES Employment — 8 to 12 minutes per module, scripted around their program, and theirs to own. I'll build yours the same way: you tell me what your people need to know, we script it, shoot it, edit it, and hand it over ready for your learning platform or YouTube channel.
Scope & script
We map your requirements into modules — what each one teaches and what people should be able to do after.
Shoot
Studio, job site, or a real modular factory floor. Me on camera, doing the work.
Deliver
Edited modules, quizzes, handouts and certificates — branded for you, ready to plug into your LMS, website or private YouTube.
Yours to own
The series is built for your organization and delivered as your asset.
Aaron brings a rare combination of deep industry knowledge and genuine commitment to helping people succeed — he doesn't just teach; he transforms how people see their own potential in the trades. Robert Tortian · ACCES Employment
Want this for your people?
Tell me who you're training, how many, and where. I'll tell you straight what makes sense: a cohort, a few short courses, a talk, or nothing at all. You'll hear back within one business day.
Within one business day. If it makes sense, we'll set up a call.
