Construction workforce development · First Day to Foreman

Job-site ready.
Taught by a builder.

I help newcomers, youth and career changers get into construction through hands-on training, taught by someone who started with zero experience. Almost 30 years later, I'm still building.

I'm Head of Construction at Modulink, leading live projects every week, and I teach from what's on site right now. So I know exactly where your people are starting, and where the work is today.

Why me

A master builder. Not a textbook.

I've spent almost 30 years building companies, crews and projects. Now a big part of my work is building the next crew.

I didn't learn this in a classroom. I learned it from crews, mistakes and almost 30 years of projects: cottages to multi-family, tiny homes, heritage and insurance rebuilds. Dr. Bruce Firestone, founder of the Ottawa Senators, calls me a master builder.

Your people learn it from the guy who's done it, with his tools in their hands. They hear how I actually got in, what the job really pays, and what gets you fired on day one. Nobody reads that out of a binder.

Right now I'm:

  • Head of Construction at Modulink: modular and multi-family builds, and the Bourget train station rebuild with the City of Clarence-Rockland
  • Co-founder of Small Living Co.: the first mobile tiny home sold through Home Depot Canada, and the homes Collège La Cité students build
  • Owner of Hammond Hill, an off-grid eco-campground I built from bare land, and running AIM Project Management since 2012

I don't teach from old notes. I teach from projects I'm running today.

The certificate is the receipt. The real thing is days on the tools beside someone who's done every job on the list, and walking out with a resume, a LinkedIn and a shot at a real interview.

Small Living Co. × Collège La Cité

Students building real tiny homes.

Since 2025, Collège La Cité students have built three towable tiny homes with Small Living Co., my company, over two summer sessions. My crew works alongside them on things like spray foam and siding.

Small Living Co. also sold the first mobile tiny home through Home Depot Canada. This isn't a classroom idea. It's a product people buy.

Don't take my word for it.

Robert TortianDirector, Bridging Services, ACCES Employment
"I just wanted to register my profound appreciation once again for your incredible training on Modular Housing and particularly on LinkedIn. You are such an amazing instructor with a golden heart."
