How to Build Tiny Homes
Built from what we've learned with Small Living Co. and our collaboration with Collège La Cité, where students have built three working tiny homes. In the 2-day format, participants work stations on a real tiny home in progress — framing, envelope and systems. It can also run as a college semester or a school build day.
What we cover
- Planning the build: design, weight, zoning
- Trailer, chassis or foundation
- Framing, sheathing and envelope
- Plumbing, electrical and off-grid systems in a small footprint
- Finishes, inspection and handover

Ways to run it
Semester integration
Built into your construction program, the way Collège La Cité does it — students design and build a real, working tiny home.
2-day build course
Two full days on an actual build for workforce programs, cohorts and adult learners.
Build day
A day for high school students — measure and lay out a wall, watch it get framed up close, walk through a finished tiny home, and hear how to get into the trades.
